June 6, 2017 (San Diego) - Former San Diego State All-American Xander Schauffele (San Diego, Calif.) clinched a berth in the 2017 U.S. Open Championship Tuesday, emerging from a five-way playoff to grab one of two remaining spots in the United States Golf Association (USGA) sectional qualifier in Memphis, Tennessee.

May 31, 2017 (San Diego) - The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced the list of CRCA National Scholar Athletes for the 2017 season, naming rowing’s Emaleigh White and Nadirah Jamaludin as award recipients. Both student-athletes are first-time recipients of the award.

May 27, 2017 (Alberquerque) - San Diego State fell victim to the tourney run rule as it dropped a 12-1 decision to Fresno State in seven innings at the Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M. The result means both team have a loss and it will all come down to a single game for the 2017 conference championship on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. MT at Santa Ana Star Field.

May 27, 2017 (Austin, Tex.) - San Diego State track and field junior Ashley Henderson set a school and meet record in the 100-meter dash, becoming one of two Aztecs to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship west region preliminary round, hosted by the University of Texas, Friday.

May 25, 2017 (Alberquerque) - In a contest played with a consistent 27 mph wind blowing out to right field, San Diego State was able to generate more offense than Fresno State as it defeated the Bulldogs 18-10 in Thursday’s opening game of the Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.

May 23, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State had 13 football players selected to the Athlon Sports preseason all-Mountain West team, the magazine recently announced. The back-to-back Mountain West champion Aztecs had a league-high 14 selections overall with senior Rashaad Penny (Norwalk, Calif.) named to the first team as a running back and a kick returner.

May 18, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State track and field has qualified 13 student-athletes for the NCAA Track & Field Preliminary Rounds, the NCAA announced Thursday. The 13 qualifiers is tied for the most in program history since the NCAA implemented the region system (east and west) in 2010.

May 16, 2017 (Sammamish, Wash.) - The San Diego State men’s golf team saw its 2016-17 campaign come to a disappointing conclusion Wednesday with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Washington Regional at Aldarra Golf Club. The Aztecs fired a combined 14-over-par 298 during the final round to complete the tournament with a 54-hole total of 30-over 882 on the par-71, 6,885-yard course layout.

May 17, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State finished the 2017 campaign ranked 13^th nationally in the final Collegiate Water Polo Association Top-25 Poll. It is the highest final CWPA ranking for the program since 2013 when the Aztecs completed the season at No. 10.
