March 20, 2018 (San Diego) - Dean Nevarez’s walk-off single with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning sealed the No. 25 San Diego State baseball team’s 5-4 victory over CSU Bakersfield on Tuesday night. Through 20 games, the SDSU baseball team now sits at 14-6 on the year, while CSU Bakersfield falls to 9-13.

March 20, 2018 (San Diego) - San Diego State infielder Jordan Verdon was named Mountain West Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. The honor comes a day after Verdon was named Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week.

March 19, 2018 (San Diego) - San Diego State infielder Jordan Verdon was named one of nine Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week, it was announced Monday morning

In San Diego State's week, which featured a 3-1 record over four road games, Verdon hit .471 (8-for-17) with six doubles and nine RBI. In each of the four games, Verdon recorded at least two hits, one RBI, and one extra-base hit.

March 18, 2018 (San Luis Obispo) - Highlighted by Garrett Hill’s 6.2 shutout innings, the No. 25 San Diego State baseball team earned a series-clinching win over Cal Poly with a 3-2 win over the Mustangs on Sunday afternoon.

March 17, 2018 (San Luis Obispo) - The No. 25 San Diego State baseball team fell victim to a walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning to fall in Saturday night’s road contest at Cal Poly 5-4. The Aztecs drop to 12-6 on the year, while Cal Poly ups its record to 8-11.

March 13, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team took an 8-3 decision over San Diego at Fowler Park on Tuesday night, using a seven-run sixth inning to overcome an early 2-0 deficit and salvage a split of the season series against the Toreros. SDSU improves to 11-5 on the season, while San Diego slips to 9-8.

March 11, 2018 (San Diego) - The No. 25 San Diego State baseball team claimed a series win against Mountain West foe Air Force by splitting with the Falcons at Tony Gwynn Stadium on Sunday. After the Falcons won the first game 7-3, SDSU responded with a 3-2 victory in the nightcap. The Aztecs are now 10-5 overall and 4-1 in the Mountain West, while Air Force is 5-10 on the season with a 1-2 conference mark.

March 9, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team stayed unbeaten in Mountain West play on Friday night, defeating Air Force, 3-2, at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs up its record to 9-4 on the year with a 3-0 mark in MW action, while Air Force falls to 4-9 after its MW-opener loss.

March 6, 2018 (Tuscon) - The San Diego State baseball team suffered a 13-4 setback to Arizona at Hi Corbett Field. The No. 25 Aztecs fall to 8-4 on the year, while Arizona evens its record to 6-6.

The Aztecs swung the bat well in the early stages of the game, scoring a pair of first-inning runs in thanks to a Jordan Verdon double scoring David Hensley and Julian Escobedo. An inning later, the Aztecs built that lead to 3-0 with leadoff hitter Matt Rudick bringing home Escobedo on a single through the left side of the inning.

February 27, 2018 (Irvine) - The San Diego State baseball fell to UC Irvine, 9-4, at Anteater Ballpark on Tuesday night. The Aztecs head into next weekend’s conference series with a 6-3 record, while UC Irvine improves to 6-2 on the year.

February 26, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team used a quality start from Justin Goossen-Brown and a four-run fifth inning to secure a 4-3 win over Michigan on Tuesday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs conclude its season-opening eight-game homestand with a record of 6-2, while the Wolverines slip to 2-5 on the 2018 season.

February 25, 2018 (San Diego) - Aztecs baseball is 2-1 in the Tony Gwynn Legacy.  Today they played their fourth game in the annual tournament in a Sunday matinee against Grand Canyon University.  Junior transfer Garrett Hill started for the Aztecs against Jake Repavich for Grand Canyon.

February 24, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team fell victim to a three-run ninth inning, suffering a 5-2 setback against No. 4 Arkansas on Saturday night in the Tony Gwynn Legacy at Tony Gwynn Stadium.  The Aztecs fall to 4-2 on the season, while the fourth-ranked Razorbacks improve to 5-1 in 2018.

February 24, 2018 (San Diego) - Jacob Maekawa’s run on a wild pitch thrown by Arizona reliever Tylor Megill handed the San Diego State baseball team a 3-2, 10-inning win in SDSU’s opening game of the Tony Gwynn Legacy at Tony Gwynn Stadium Friday night. The Aztecs improve to 4-1 on the young season, while Arizona dips to 3-2 on the year.

February 20, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball suffered a 3-2 setback against crosstown foe San Diego on Tuesday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium, falling victim to a 10th-inning RBI double by USD’s Dante Gutierrez. The Aztecs fall to 3-1 on the young 2018 season, while USD jumps above .500 at 3-2.

February 18, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team completed a three-game sweep of UC Santa Barbara in its first series of the 2018 campaign by defeating the Gauchos, 7-5, at Tony Gwynn Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

February 17, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team continued a successful start to the 2018 season Saturday night, defeating UC Santa Barbara, 8-4, at Tony Gwynn Stadium Saturday night.

Chase Calabuig paced the offense with a 3-for-5 day, hitting the Aztecs' first home run of the season and a double. Chad Bible had a two-out, bases clearing triple to give the Aztecs a 8-4 lead in the top of the sixth.

February 16, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team kicked off its 2018 campaign in commanding fashion, defeating UC Santa Barbara, 9-1, on Friday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

Logan Boyer, a preseason all-MW selection, impressed in his first start of the season, going 3.2 innings with a career-high eight strikeouts. After Boyer started his evening inducing a 6-3 groundout, Boyer went on to strikeout the next four Gaucho hitters he faced.

October 17, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State head baseball coach Mark Martinez has released the team’s 2018 schedule, featuring a 55-game slate with 31 regular-season home games at Tony Gwynn Stadium. SDSU will also host the Tony Gwynn Classic from Feb. 23-25 and the Mountain West tournament from May 24-27.

June 19, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State outfielder Tyler Adkison and shortstop Danny Sheehan have been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-America Third Team. The announcement comes on the heels of both players being selected to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region First Team last week.

June 14, 2017 (Secaucus, N.J.) - After San Diego State Aztec pitcher Brett Seeburger (St. Louis, 10th rd.) was taken on Tuesday during day two of the annual Major League Draft, four fellow Aztecs heard their names called on Wednesday during final day of the pro selection process. That foursome included seniors Marcus Reyes (LHP) and CJ Saylor (RHP) plus juniors Alan Trejo (2B) and Tyler Adkison (OF).

June 14, 2017 (San Diego) - Aztec outfielder Tyler Adkison has been named a 2017 Perfect Game/Rawlings Honorable Mention All-American and both he and shortstop Danny Sheehan have been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division I West All-Region First Team. Sheehan was previously announced as a 2017 third team All-American by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

June 13, 2017 (Secaucus, N.J.) - San Diego State pitcher Brett Seeburger has been selected in the 10th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. The senior left-hander was the 304th selection in the draft, which concluded the second of three days on Tuesday.

June 4, 2017 (Long Beach) - A San Diego State baseball season that produced 42 victories (tied for the most for the program in the last 15 seasons), a fourth Mountain West Conference tournament title in the last five seasons and advanced to an NCAA Regional for the fourth time in five years has ended.

June 4, 2017 (Long Beach) - San Diego State kept Its Regional hopes alive as it defeated UCLA 3-2 in 13 innings Saturday afternoon at Blair Field in Long Beach, Calif. SDSU’s winning run came in the top of the 13th when Danny Sheehan was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.

May 28, 2017 (Alberquerque) - For the fourth time in the last five years, San Diego State is the Mountain West baseball champion, this time coming from behind to defeat Fresno State 5-3 Sunday afternoon in the title game in Albuquerque, N.M.
