January 3, 2019 (La Mesa) – La Mesa City Councilman Colin Parent won’t be a bachelor for much longer. On December 29th, he announced to friends on Facebook, “Sara Dadkhah and I are pleased to announce that we are engaged!”
Parent has served on the Council since 2016. An attorney with a law degree from New York University, he also serves as executive director and general counsel for Circulate San Diego, a nonprofit dedicated to improving sustainability through better land use planning and design.Previously, he was appointed appointed by Governor Jerry Brown as Director of External Affairs for the California Department of Housing and Community Development.
According to her Linked In bio, Dadkhah is a behavior science researcher for Irrational Labs. She is also a finance and reporting specialist at the International Rescue Society, where she previously was a senior program officer in the U.S. Refugee Reception and Placement program. She holds a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of California, San Diego and previously studied engineering at U.C. Berkeley.
Dadkhah will marry into a prominent family. Parent’s father, Don Parent, is the retired long-time public affairs manager for San Diego Gas & Electric Company
.Parent popped the question over the holidays, two years after the photos above were taken. The couple has not yet announced when or where the wedding will take place.
