January 17, 2016 (San Diego) -- Pacificaires and Cedar Center Chorus present this year’s winter concert at the College Avenue Baptist Church (4747 College Ave., San Diego) on January 30th at 2 p.m..  You're invited to join in singing in the New Year.

Pacificaires is a thriving company of older adults that has been performing since 1976 under the auspices of the San Diego Community College District’s Continuing Education Emeritus program. Our performances showcase terrific soloists, ensembles, three piano-playing directors, and a seven-piece orchestra, amidst the rich harmonies of a 100-voice world-class community chorus. This year, the group introduced its new a-cappella group of advanced singers, Allegro.

This year’s performance, in keeping with the group's recent tour in Hawaii, is a multicultural celebration in song: Brazilian, Hawaiian, African-American, Jewish, Irish, Maori, Argentine, French, and more! We round out the program with a characteristically diverse range of selections - from Vivaldi, Louie Armstrong, Simon and Garfunkel, Toto and of course a few seasonal numbers, including some from centuries past as well as variations of a few familiars.

The performance will also entertain you with comedy and audience participation, and a large video display of images and lyrics appreciated by those who need help reading and singing.
