September 3, 2012 (Warner Springs) – A motorist struck and killed a cow tonight around 8:17 p.m. on  S-2 between Highway 79 and Montezuma Grade, after encountering a herd of cattle in the roadway, the CHP website reports.

The vehicle, a sedan, left the scene of the accident.  The person who reported the collisions told CHP that he began flashing his lights to alert other drivers.

A citizen indicated he would help drag the cow carcass onto the owner’s property whle another person tried to contain additional cattle still blocking the roadway.
