February 17, 2016 (Carlsbad) -- “This occasion truly felt like an ‘Affair of the Heart’. It seemed like a movie in progress sometimes with the excitement, exuberance of the attendees who were caught up in the ambiance and spirit of the evening. One of the highlights was when Inka was asked to speak to the group and describe her journey through art, her experience and particularly, her evolution toward portraiture painting. The rapt attention of everyone toward what she was expressing was immutable; everyone was entranced, caught up in the story, delighting in the fact that she was giving them some insight into this artful pursuit; a mystical moment.”

The above observations offered by one Carlsbad art patron give testament to the enthusiasm surrounding the opening of fine artist Inka Zamoyska’s current exhibition, ‘Romance of the Portrait’, now hanging at the Inka Zamoyska Fine Arts Studio Gallery in the La Costa Towne Center. The enduring value of the portrait in immortalizing a loved one is well celebrated in Zamoyska’s profoundly captivating portraits of her own family.

Take a one-turn-of-the-wheel departure from one of the busiest, central intersections in the North County, (El Camino Real at La Costa Ave) and discover an eloquently understated bastion of culture and classical fine arts. For more than five years, artist Inka Zamoyska has been pursuing her life’s passion, painting, studying and launching an astute career from her easel anchored in this studio gallery in the La Costa Town Center.

A descendant of the historically acclaimed Zamoyski family of Poland, Inka Zamoyska was trained in Canada and the United States, with European influence from the Old Masters as well as impressionist inspirations. The current exhibition is a stunning culmination of her study and devoted practice of classical painting. While the show is sharply focused on Zamoyska’s present concentration on portraiture, including noble renditions of our canine and equine friends, seascapes, landscapes and masterfully executed still life works in oil are also on display. The painter’s body of work reflects an expansive ability to interpret the natural world with light, color and form.

‘Romance of the Portrait’ at Inka Zamoyska Fine Arts will be open Tuesday through Saturday from February 6 through Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 11am -6pm, or by appointment. Portrait commissions are welcome. Please visit the artist’s website, www.inkazamoyskafinearts.com, or contact the studio for more detailed information.
