2 ARRESTED FOR SEPTEMBER MURDER IN EL CAJON

October 24, 2014 (El Cajon)—El Cajon Police announce the arrest yesterday of Paul Julian Sosa III and Homero Viscarroa Palomino.  They are charged with murder, robbery and conspiracy in the death of John Francis, 38, who died of a gunshot wound on September 18.

Francis was found unresponsive after officers responded to a 911 call on September 18 at 1:20 p.m. at an apartment complex at 1499 Broadway in El Cajon. He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. According to Lt. Frank LaHaye, “During the initial investigation it appeared that Francis was a victim of robbery and was targeted for marijuana found in his possession.”

Yesterday, detectives from the El Cajon Police Department and East County Gang Taskforce served two search warrants related to this investigation, one in the city of Chula Vista the other in San Diego. The searches results in the arrests of Sosa and Palomino, who are residents of San Diego and Chula Vistas respectively. Both have been booked into County jail.
