May 18, 2012 (Lakeside) – The 3rd annual Lakeside Relay for Life will be held June 9-10. This is a 24 hour, free family fun event open to the public to raise funds and awareness for The American Cancer Society while having a great time together.

Teams of people camp out and take turns walking or running around the track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event, which represents the reality that cancer never sleeps and neither do we. By participating, you honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives we've lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight cancer in your community.

There will be music, live bands, show choirs, dance teams and Kelsie Martin winner of MTV Made.  Enjoy food, raffles, silent auctions and much more.

The event will take place at Lakeside Middle School, 11833 Woodside Avenue, Lakeside.  The Opening Ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. June 9 with the Survivors Lap taking place at 9:30 a.m.

It's not too late to start a team or join an existing team. All donations are appreciated. For more information please contact Susan Hildreth, event co-chair at 619-203-9866 or Sheila Florey event co-chair at 619-517-0234, or visit the website www.relayforlife.org/lakesideca
