8 CANDIDATES VIE TO REPLACE REXFORD ON POWAY COUNCIL

March 26, 2010 (Poway ) – On June 6, Poway voters will decide whether or not to recall Council member Betty Rexford. Backers of the recall have laid out their arguments at the website www.recallrexford.com. Rexford has launched a site disputing the charges and defending her record at http://www.therealbettyrexford.com/. Voters will also be asked to choose a replacement in case the recall election succeeds. Eight candidates made yesterday’s filing deadline to be included on the ballot.

Candidates are:

 

• Pete Babich, an engineer, youth sports coach, and former senior executive with Hewlett Packard
• Howard Collins, a businessman and community volunteer
• Chuck Cross, business owner and volunteer for Poway Midland Railroad
• Dave Grosch, a retired finance manager and fiscal conservative
• John Mullin, a businessman former Poway Chamber of Commerce director who chaired the Redevelopment Advisory Committee, and fiscal conservative
• David Radcliff, who spent 20 years teaching in higher education and also held management positions in the privator sector
• Steve Vaus, business owner/recording artist and chairman of the recall effort
• Roger Willoughby, a retired income tax preparer who has served on the Poway Redevelopment and Housing Advisory Committee
