ACOUSTIC SHOWCASE CONCERTS IN OCTOBER AT COUNTY LIBRARIES

September 25, 2014 (San Diego’s East County) --The fall series of the San Diego County Library Acoustic Showcase continues in October with eight concerts taking place throughout the month countywide.  The Acoustic Showcase series offers a wonderful variety of some of San Diego's very best singer/songwriters, folk music performers and story tellers. These concerts are free to the community.The series includes the following concerts in East County:

At the Rancho San Diego Library, Cleopatra Degher will perform on Tuesday, October 7 at 6:30 p.m. Cleopatra Degher's contemporary folk sensibilities, along her serene and haunting voice, ensure that her music resides securely in the present, even if the ghosts of Laurel Canyon and the Dustbowl do make frequent appearances.

At the El Cajon Library, the Shirthouse Bluegrass Band will perform on Saturday, October 18 at 2 p.m., presented by the San Diego Bluegrass Society. The band specializes in gospel, folk and rock as well as bluegrass.

The Lemon Grove Library will feature a performance on Tuesday, October 21 by Peter Sprague at 6:30 p.m. He is a critically acclaimed jazz guitarist, musical arranger, sound recording engineer, and music producer.
