ALPINE MAN KILLED IN DOWNTOWN CRASH

December 25, 2013 (Alpine) – A driver who died at the scene of an accident on Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego on December 22nd has been identified as Michael Glantz, a 62-year-old Alpine resident.

Glantz was the driver and only occupant of a Hyundai Elantra traveling south on Harbor Drive at the Hawthorn Street intersection when he was struck from behind by a Dodge Charger sedan, causing him to hit a small red sedan also traveling southbound. His vehicle came to rest on a raised median at the intersection of Harbor Drive and Grape Street.

Rescue personnel extricated him from the wreckage but despite efforts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
