July 11, 2011 (San Diego) -- San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit detectives have arrested two suspects for the October, 2010 shooting death of Aaron Robinson inside his 54th Street apartment.

On Saturday, October 2, 2010, at approximately 3:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of 54th Street. They found a 21-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound on the third floor of the complex. Officers learned the victim and other people were leaving an apartment when several males confronted them.  One of the males issued a gang challenge, and a fight ensued. During the fight, a suspect pulled out a handgun and shot at the victim group. The female was struck by one round, and the suspects fled.

As officers were investigating the shooting, a resident alerted officers to a male lying inside the security door of his first-floor apartment. Officers went to the first floor unit and found Robinson dead inside his apartment.

The investigation revealed that the same suspects were responsible for both incidents. On December 1, 2010, Darius Peete, 19, was arrested for an unrelated crime, and he has been in custody since then. This morning, at 3:20 a.m., detectives and officers from the Robbery and Street Gang Units arrested Laquan Jordan, 20, in the 600 block of North Mollison Avenue in El Cajon.

Peete and Jordan will be charged with murder. Jordan will also be charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
