ARRESTS MADE IN SHOOTINGS OF TEENS IN EL CAJON: 2 MEN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER

May 26, 2010 (El Cajon)—El Cajon Police have arrested Juan Jose Barba-Hinojosa, 31, and Joshua Gabriel Cordova Sander, 26, for attempted murder. The men are accused of shooting three victims, including a 17-year-old girl and two 18-year-old men last night in El Cajon. Police indicate the crimes may be gang-related.

 

Police responded to reports of multiple gun shots last night at 7:20 p.m. They located three victims, who were transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment.

 

At 7:20 pm, residents in the area called the El Cajon Police Department reporting multiple gun shots. Responding officers located three victims all suffering from gunshot injuries. All three were transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment. One of the male victims is reportedly in critical but stable condition; the other two teens suffered minor injuries.

 

Witnesses directed officers to an apartment in the 800 blk of Scranton, where the suspects were believed to be. With assistance from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the ASTREA helicopter, a perimeter was secured around the apartment complex. The suspects came out as directed by officers and were taken into custody.
