ARRIBA! VAQUERO DAYS OCT. 16-17 IN DESCANSO

October 15, 2010 (Descanso) – In the tradition of the Spanish Vaqueros who once worked the rancheros in Spanish California, the Vaquero Days 18th annual Western Heritage Festival this weekend showcases skills including an Extreme Cowboy Race, horsemanship demonstrations, ranch roping and gymkhana. Other attractions include western music and poetry, vendors, artists, smokey barbecue and traditional Mexican fare, a mountain man camp, and more.

 

The event will be held October 16th and 16th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Granny Martin Ranch/Granvill Museum in Descanso. Admission is $10 for adults; kids free with parents. No dogs allowed.
