March 3, 2011 (El Cajon)--The Grossmont College Art Council presents its annual fundraising Exhibition and Auction next week. The Hyde Gallery on campus will exhibit works of 18 established artists representing a variety of disciplines.

Though brief in its duration, the scope of this exhibition is significant: two dimensional work in acrylic to three dimensional work in ceramic will be featured. Artists Bobbie Fisher, Daphne Hill, David Fobes, Suda House, Terri Hughes and David Hewitt are among those whose work will provide patrons a broad range of appeal.

Guests can preview and bid on their favorite works during the week, Monday through Thursday, as well as Friday, March 11 between 7-8:30 p.m. during the event’s culminating reception. Festivities that evening will include a silent auction of all the donated art, appetizers, spirits and music from 7-10 p.m. Bidding closes at 8:30p.m. and winning bids will be announced at 9 p.m. All sales proceeds will benefit the Art Council Student Awards Program.

The Hyde Gallery hours are: Monday and Thursday, 10am-6:30pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-8pm. The Gallery is closed Friday to Sunday and on holidays. Admission is free. The Gallery is located in the 200 Building Main Quad of the campus at 8800 Grossont Center Drive, El Cajon.  Parking is available during the exhibition with the purchase of a permit from the vending machine in lot #1F. Complimentary parking is available only during Friday evening’s reception in lot #1 in designated parking stalls.
