December 24, 2011 (Sacramento) -- Assemblymember Marty Block, AD-78, continued his season of giving as he distributed toys and baby items to local families at the Grossmont Spring Valley Family Health Center, one of thirty sites operated by Family Health Centers of San Diego.

In its second year, Assemblymember Block’s “Holiday Helping Hands” event partnered with Family Health Centers of San Diego to distribute toys to area families and baby items for their Baby Boutique, which is a prenatal program that cares for 2,000 moms and newborn babies each year.

“It’s always a great feeling to give back to the community. Times are tough, families are struggling, and making a child’s holiday season a little brighter is a joy for me and our partners. We wouldn’t be able to help these families without the assistance of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and Target,” said Block. “This is the second year of this toy drive and the generosity of Barona and Target is greatly appreciated by me and these families.”

"It was a pleasure to partner with Assemblymember Block again this year to provide toys to our pediatric patients and important baby items for our new and expecting moms," said Grossmont Spring Valley Family Health Center Clinic Director Gene Hartman.

Assemblymember Marty Block represents the cities and communities of Bonita, Chula Vista, Lemon Grove, San Diego and Spring Valley.
