January 8, 2017 (Alpine) – Authorities recovered a stolen U-Haul truck on Friday, filled with other stolen property.

An Alpine Sheriff’s deputy was patrolling the lot of a local casino and spotted the stolen U-Haul truck.  With help from casino security, the deputy located the truck’s two occupants, Kimberly White, 47, and Salomon Saenz, 60.

“White rented the truck over a month ago and failed to return it,” says Sergeant Chris Galve.

Both White and Saenz were arrested for vehicle theft. Saenz was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

In the back of the truck, deputies located a significant amount of property that appeared to be stolen.  Alpine detectives responded to the scene and are in the process of locating owners of all of the suspected stolen property including mail, gift cards, credit cards and other small items.

The investigation is ongoing.
