November 7, 2013 (San Diego’s East County) –Among East County’s best-kept secrets are the dramatic tours offered by Overland Adventures.
Autumn nights are ideal for several special upcoming experiences ranging from a classical guitar concert by moonlight in the redrock Hawk Canyon area to two overnight camp-outs for stargazers –including a chance to view an upcoming meteor shower and the spectacular comet ISON.

AUTUMN IN THE DESERT EVENTS:
- Classical Guitar Under the Moon—An Evening with Michael McCormick, Fri, November 15: Exquisite music enhanced by the natural acoustics of beautiful Hawk Canyon and a chuck wagon dinner.
- Camp Beneath the Stars with Astronomer Scott Baker, Sat, November 23: Fall camping is idyllic in the Anza-Borrego Desert, especially in the company of an astronomer and his 14" telescope. Chuck wagon dinner will also be provided.
- Journey to the Far Side of the Salton Sea, Sat, December 7: Van excursion to the Salton Sea's bizarre and strangely beautiful Eastern Shore. Visit the Mud Volcanoes, Salvation Mountain, Slab City, Bombay Beach, the Sony Bono Wildlife Refuge and more.
- Meteor Shower Overnight (and maybe Comet ISON!), Fri, December 13: View the starry skies with professional astronomer and famed night sky photographer Dennis Mammana. The annual Geminids meteor shower should be better than average this year plus the possible presence of a dazzling comet may make the night even more intriguing.
