March 6, 2018 (Alpine) – A SWAT team was called out to Alpine yesterday for a domestic violence incident in which a woman had barricaded herself into a bedroom with two shotguns, a handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, according to Sergeant Alex Navarro.

A caller had reported that the woman, Erin Cutter, had assaulted her husband after he tried to remove two shotguns from their bedroom. Deputies learned that she had barricaded herself inside.  “The family feared Cutter was a threat to herself,” Navarro stated.

Probably cause was found to arrest Cutter for assault with a deadly weapon and felony domestic violence. After negotiations initially failed, deputies called in the Special Enforcement Detail (SWAT team) and crisis negotiator.

After more failed attempts at negotiation, the Special Enforcement Detail entered the residence and took Cutter into custody. Neither Cutter nor any deputies were injured.

Two shotguns, a handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were found in the bedroom, as had been reported.  Cutter was booked into the Las Colinas jail on charges of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon.
