BEER RUN TURNS SOUR

January 3, 2011 (La Mesa) – Yesterday around 4:52 p.m., La Mesa Police received a report of a beer run at the Eastridge Liquor Store, 7705 University Ave. Two white male juveniles and black male entered the store and allegedly concealed beer in a backpack. As they were trying to leave the store, the manager confronted them and attempted to detain the trio until police arrived. The suspects resisted and fought with the manager.

 

The black male adult suspect pulled out a knife and the suspects fled on foot out the front door. LMPD searched the area for the suspects with negative results. One of the suspects received a facial injury during the struggle that caused bleeding, which was found at the scene. The manager sustained a bloody nose, but refused medical attention. The suspects are still outstanding.

 

Suspect #1 was described as a white male juvenile, 14-15 years old, 5 foot 8 inches, 140 pounds with black hair. The suspect was wearing a white shirt, brown jacket, jeans and carrying a blue backpack.

 

Suspect #2 was described as a black male adult, 18-20 years old, 5 foot 9 inches, 170 pounds with black hair and a white doo rag. The suspect was wearing a black shirt and black jeans.

 

Suspect #3 was described as a white male juvenile, 14-15 years old, 5 foot 8 inches, 140 pounds. The suspect was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.

The investigation in continuing. Anyone with information is urged to call the La Mesa Police Department at (619) 667-1400.
