March 22, 2012 (La Mesa) – Three young suspects are under arrest for burglarizing a residence in the 7600 block of Seattle Drive in La Mesa.

Tuesday morning at 10:04 p.m., La Mesa Police received a call from a citizen who provided detailed descriptions of suspects who were breaking into the residence. The witness provided police with updates as officers responded to the scene.

The suspects had fled the residence by the time officers arrived, so a search of the area ensued with help from the Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter. According to police, residents in the area provided officers with leads and the officers soon located a female suspect in the getaway vehicle parked nearby.  Around 20 minutes later, two other outstanding suspects were found in the 7300 block of University Ave. All three suspects were arrested for residential burglary.

The suspects arrested are:

19 year-old Bianca Roman from Spring Valley, who was booked at Las Colinas, 20 year-old David Monegro from National City was booked at County Jail; and a 17 year-old male juvenile from National City who was booked at Juvenile Hall.

This case was a prime example of the police and citizens working together to apprehend criminals in the community,” a press release issued by La Mesa Police stated. “Without the help of the witnesses sharing their observations with the officers, it is likely these suspects could have gotten away with this crime.”
