CRIMESTOPPER REWARD OFFER

 

October 10, 2009 (San Diego)--San Diego County Crime Stoppers, in conjunction with the San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit, family and friends of Guillermo Esparza, are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify and locate the person(s) responsible for his murder. On Saturday, October 10, 2009, at 5:00 p.m., Family and friends will hold a candlelight vigil at the scene of the crime, 7300 Paradise Valley Road, San Diego, near the Paradise Valley Road intersection. 

 

 

Investigators said on August 21, 2009, at about 2:15 a.m., patrol officers received a radio call of a shooting at 7300 Paradise Valley Road. Southeastern Division patrol officers arrived on-scene and found Esparza, who had suffered gunshot wounds, near the sidewalk on the north side of Paradise Valley Road.  Paramedics attempted life saving measures, however the victim died at the scene. The investigation has revealed that the victim and a male friend were walking together when they were confronted by two suspects who were also walking on Paradise Valley Road. A verbal altercation occurred between the young men. The suspect then displayed a handgun and shot and killed Esparza.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s). Collect calls are accepted and callers may remain anonymous.

 

For information leading to an arrest, you could receive up to a $1,000 reward and remain anonymous. The qualification of any person(s) for the reward and the amount of the reward for any person(s) so qualifying will be determined by San Diego County Crime Stoppers, Inc, in its sole discretion. The amount of all rewards given shall not exceed $1,000. Information must be received on the tip line, (888) 580-8477.
