June 7, 2015 (San Diego) – Police are searching for two suspects, one armed with a machete-type knife, who assaulted a driver Sunday morning in the Fairmont village area and stole his gray Chrysler 300 car.

The victim was traveling eastbound on Myrtle Avenue near Chamoune Avenue around 9:15 a.m. when one suspect jumped out in front of the vehicle to force it to stop, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims has stated.

City News Service Reports the motorist drove around the suspect but had to stop for traffic.  While the driver tried to roll up his window, both suspects began punching the driver through the  open window and ordered him to give them the car.

The suspects stole the vehicle and the driver fled on foot.
