May 31, 2017 (Lakeside) – California Highway Patrol’s El Cajon office is seeking witnesses to help find two drivers who fled the scene after striking and seriously injuring a 29-year-old woman who was standing in traffic lanes.

Around 4:45 a.m. Monday morning on westbound I-8 just west of Lake Jennings Park Road in Lakeside, the San Diego woman was struck by an unknown vehicle that knocked her to the ground.  Then a black Ford diesel truck, either an F-250 or 350, struck the woman again, causing major life-threatening injuries.  Both drivers failed to stop.

The victim was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

CHP is also seeking the driver of an off-white Bounder motorhome with a black single-axle trailer carrying a white off-road vehicle.

If you have any information, please contact Officer Kevin Pearlstein at (619) 401-2000.
