COLLEGE AREA ROBBER POSED AS TICKET SELLER

March 17, 2018 (San Diego) – San Diego State University campus police have issued an alert following a robbery that occurred yesterday at 11:05 a.m. in the east alley of 5100 College Avenue.  The suspect offered to sell basketball tickets to the victim, but instead reportedly stole the victim’s money.

The suspect is described as a black male adult approximately 10 or 20 years old, six feet tall, weight approximately 120 pounds. He wore a red hoodie, red Jordan sneakers, gray sweatpants, and a gray beanie.  (See photo)

He fled on foot toward Aztec Student Union and was last seen near Campanile Drive.

San Diego Police Department is investigating this off-campus incident. Case #18-008434.

Prevention Tips: The University Police Department offers the following basic safety precautions to all members of the community:

  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Avoid distractions.
  • Report suspicious activity to the police by dialing 9-1-1.
