March 30, 2010 (El Cajon)--Six unique gardens are featured in the Friends of East County Arts, Inc. 15th Annual Garden Tour on Saturday, April 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Two of the star attractions on this year’s tour are ‘Ali,’ a strapping three-year-old Clydesdale horse born the day prior to the 2007 garden, tour and Magnum, a retired San Diego police patrol horse, whose former beat was Balboa Park.

Shopping has been added to this year’s tour. Ten professional crafters will be featured with items that relate to gardening. “We are even providing refreshments so that guests can purchase snacks while touring,” says Tour Director, Linda Riolo.

The tour is sponsored by Friends of East County Art, Inc. a philanthropic organization of 100 volunteer members devoted to furthering development and growth of the performing and fine arts in East County. To date, Friends has contributed more than $550,000.00 to art-based programs in the community. All monies collected from this event will benefit these programs.

Tickets for the 15th annual Garden Tour are $15.00 in advance or $18.00 at any garden site the day of the tour. Contact Christy Klock at (619) 442-8515 for advanced tickets or for garden site information.
