CSU CHANCELLOR TO VISIT SDSU

April 18, 2013 (San Diego) – California State University Chancellor Timothy P. White will visit the San Diego State University campus April 24 and 25.  In addition to touring the campus and meeting with university representatives, Chancellor White will host an open forum for all members of the university community.

The forum will take place on Wednesday, April 24 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Athletics Auditorium in the Fowler Athletics Center.

At the open forum, Chancellor White will provide brief remarks and take questions from members of the audience.

About Chancellor White

White, 63, who led UC Riverside since 2008, succeeded Chancellor Charles B. Reed who retired following a 14-year tenure with the system.

Prior to taking the position at the CSU, White was the eighth chancellor of UC Riverside, and led the growth of the campus to almost 21,000 students, a record for the campus that opened in 1954.

White is a product of California’s Master Plan, having pursued his higher education from Diablo Valley Community College, Fresno State, California State University East Bay (nee Hayward), and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He spent two years as a post-doctoral scholar in physiology at the University of Michigan before starting his academic career at Ann Arbor in 1978. He is internationally recognized for his research in muscle plasticity, injury and aging.
