DOG KILLED AFTER ATTACKING DEA AGENT

May 26, 2023 (La Mesa) An agent with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency shot and killed a dog at a Mesa resident on Tuesday, May 23, after the dog attacked an agent.

Agents were conducting a search warrant for narcotics at the home at 4870 Harbison Avenue. The search resulted in the arrest of four men. The DEA has not disclosed the charges.

In a statement to NBC San Diego, DEA Public Affairs Specialist Kelly McKay said,”In an effort to minimize the threat to human life, the dog was shot and did not survive.”

The injured agent was transported to a hospital for treatment, after receiving first aid on scene.
