August 18, 2011 (El Cajon) – “7 Galleries~1 Evening” will be held this Friday, August 19 from 5-8 p.m. “Come and join us for a fun, short 1/2 block walk, full of Art, champagne, wine, hors d'oeuvres and a "Downtown Gallery Walk" passport full of prizes,” says Lynn Endicott, owner of Silver Creek Fine Art Gallery.

 

Silver Creek, located at 120 East Main St., welcomes Dave Richards, Silversmith and also will be selling a vintage collection, post-Civil War through the 1960's, from the archives of the El Cajon Historical Society.

 

Richards specializes in turquoise and hand- made, one of a kind sterling silver jewelry. He is a Cherokee Nation Citizen and gives you a Certificate of Authenticity with each purchase.
 

 

The vintage collection, belonging to the El Cajon Historical Society, is not being used in the Knox House Museum or in public exhibits and is being released for sale. Among the collection of artifacts are women's hats from 1920~1950's, rare lace, books, a 1930's Bakelite Clock, tourist collectibles and a five-drawer brass and wood boxed Mah Jong set from post-war Japan, trunks, many framed pieces of art and many more items. Monies received from this sale will support the El Cajon Historical Society's valley-wide Third Grade Essay Contest and the digitization of photos and records dating back to the mid-1800's.

 

Main Street 5 Gallery, at 124 East Main St., has Daniel Ketelhut, Imagination rules the World.

 

Merkabah Gallery, at 128 East Main St., is the collection of Artists Jim Sprague and Jim Pullen.

 

The Rich Artist~Denise Rich Fine Art Studio, at 130 East Main Street, specializes in Cows and Commissions in oils.

 

White Sage Gallery, at 132 East Main St., is Artist Diane Keltner's Bronze Gallery and Studio.

 

Studio C, at 140 East Main St., is the Artwork of Carlos Castrejon and Silvia Valentino.

 

Olaf Wieghorst Museum & Western Heritage Center at 131 Rea Avenue.

 

7 Galleries~1 Evening encourages community involvement and supporting regional Artists. Following the gallery walk, visitors can also enjoy a free Concert on the Green.
