DRIVER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SANTEE

January 4, 2012 (Santee)—The driver of a sedan that struck another vehicle was unconscious at the scene of an accident on Mission Gorge Road in Santee this evening, ECM photographer Dennis Richardson reports.  

According to witnesses at the scene, the injured driver was heading downhill when he pulled onto Mission Gorge Road off Riderwood Terrace and T-boned a second car, spinning his vehicle around. 

Emergency personnel transported the injured man to a local hospital.  A woman in the second vehicle appeared dazed but not injured.  It is unknown why the collision occurred, however the airbags in the injured driver’s vehicle deployed, indicating a significant speed at the time of impact.
