DUO ROBS WELLS FARGO BANK AT GROSSMONT CENTER

May 13, 2010 (La Mesa) – This evening at 5:13 p.m., a man and woman robbed Wells Fargo Bank in the Grossmont Center Mall. They used a demand note and threat of a gun during the robbery, obtaining cash before fleeing on foot.  

 

It was the third East County bank robbery in the past two days, though the events are not believed to be related.

 

The man is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately five feet, two inches tall with a goatee. He wore a black New York Yankees ball cap with “NY” in red, white & blue letters, dark sunglasses, a long-sleeve white T-shirt with a white tank top underneath, and light blue denim pants. His companion is a white woman in her 20s with a “curvy” figure, five feet five inches tall, wearing black sunglasses, a black & white floppy knit hat, shirt and baggy black pants.

 

No witnesses reported seeing the suspect’s leave in a vehicle and nobody was injured during the bank robbery The investigation is continuing, La Mesa Police report.
