Earlier in the evening, there was an apartment fire at 7546 Parkway Drive in La Mesa. The fire has been contained to one unit. There were no injuries.

This morning at 5:30 a.m., Santee deputies responded to the 9400 block of Mast Blvd., regarding a radio call of exploding plastic bottles in front of a residence. The plastic water bottles contained items that when combined, build pressure and explode. Deputies conducted a traffic stop of a possible suspect vehicle, and items related to this morning's incident were found inside the vehicle.

Three subjects were placed under arrest for possession of an explosive device and booked into county jail. There were no injuries, and minimal property damage. The incident is still under investigation for the possibility of being related to an earlier incident on Clifford Heights Road, Santee.
