WISCONSIN GOV. BYPASSES LEGISLATURE, CUTS COLLECTIVE BARGAINING

 

March 9, 2011 (AP) – The Wisconsin Senate succeeded in voting Wednesday to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from public workers, after Republicans outmaneuvered the chamber’s missing Democrats and approved an explosive proposal that has rocked the state and unions nationwide.

DAMAGING BOULDER AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY

 

March 8, 2011 (NPR) -- Last month's earthquake sent a 30 ton boulder through Phil Johnson's New Zealand home. He auctioned it off, describing it as "suitable for a garden feature." It sold for more than $44,000. Johnson's donating the money to the Red Cross earthquake appeal.

ONE DEAD AS MUSLIMS, CHRISTIANS CLASH IN CAIRO

March 8, 2011(Reuters) - One Christian youth was shot dead Tuesday during a protest between 1,300 Christians and Muslims who were throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at each other, a security source said.
