February 4, 2011 (El Cajon) --Want to upgrade your commercial storefront or interior in Downtown El Cajon? Want to open a new retail or restaurant business in Downtown?
 

The El Cajon Community Development Corporation (CDC) is hosting an orientation for existing or potential business and property owners interested in available incentives. The Business Success Orientation will be held on February 7, 2011 at 3:30 pm. in the El Cajon CDC offices at 131 East Main Street in Downtown El Cajon.

 

The Business Success Grant Program helps eligible business and property owners pay for façade improvements or interior remodeling to downtown commercial properties. The program offers matching funds up to $30,000 under three different grant categories: Façade Improvement, Business Recruitment, and Business Expansion. Grants are offered on a reimbursement basis.

 

In partnership with the El Cajon Redevelopment Agency, the Business Success Grant Program provides financial incentives for qualified retail, restaurant, and entertainment /arts entrepreneurs investing in the revitalizing downtown.

 

“We are looking for entrepreneurs with restaurant and retail in mind, and these incentives are a great way to demonstrate that we are serious about recruiting the right new business to our developing downtown,” said Cindi Fargo, President & CEO of the El Cajon CDC.
 

Applicants participating in the program receive support in navigating the process, including technical assistance with design. Eligible improvements may include design and architectural services, materials, paint, lighting, windows, signage, electrical service upgrades, murals, and more.
