July 15, 2015 (El Cajon)--An El Cajon chiropractor, Dr. Mace Richter, has pleaded not guilty to 42 counts related to insurance fraud.

According to court documents, Richter allegedly made false claims to insurance companies and some patients reported that their insurance companies were charged for visits that never happened.

Our news partner, 10News, broke the news in February and Richter's lawyer, Gretchen von Helms, told 10News her client is innocent until proven guilty. She emphasized this involves allegations over billing, and not causing injury or pain to any of his patients.

Richter is expected in court next month for trial.

The Board of Chiropractic Examiners is reportedly investigating whether to revoke Richter's license.
