Santee Chamber of Commerce celebrates with family-friendly fun, craft beer and the honoring of military members

May 20, 2019 (Santee) -- Join more than 30,000 visitors at the Santee Street Fair and Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, May 25 at Town Center Parkway and Riverview Parkway in Santee.  The Street Fair is celebrating its 11th year and offers family-friendly games, live music and entertainment, over 300 various food and vendor booths, artists, carnival rides, a kid’s zone and more. The Craft Beer Festival is back for its sixth year and will feature award-winning craft beer samples from local breweries and beyond. The street fair starts at 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Craft Beer Festival starts at 11:30 am to 5:30 p.m.

“Memorial Day weekend can be spent honoring heroes, while having fun,” said Kristen Dare, General Manager of the Santee Chamber. “The Santee Street Fair has something for the entire family while we celebrate the freedoms given by those who have served in our military, past and present.”

Eventgoers can also view the special memorial exhibit for Fallen Soldiers of California from the War on Terror that will be on display in the middle of the street fair and completely free.

Rated the Best Craft Beer Garden in East County, the beer garden will have live entertainment and drinks from 13 Point Brewing, BNS Brewing & Distilling Co., Creative Creature Brewing, Groundswell Brewing Co., Mike Hess Brewing Co., Guinness, Oggi’s Pizza & Brewing Co., Copper Collar Distillery, Fourpenny House, Pacific Islander Brewing Co., Cavu Brewery, 52 East Eatery and more!

Pre-sale tickets for the beer festival can be purchased online. Tickets include ten 4-ounce tasters and a ticket to choose a cheeseburger from The Sweet Stop or a bacon wrapped hotdog or Salvadorian pupusa from Doggos Gus. Wristbands can be purchased at the door for $25 for ten 4-ounce tasters or $15 for five 4-ounce tasters without food. The street fair is free to attend.       

In addition to the beer tasting, attendees will be able to visit over 300 vendor booths offering food, beverages, home services, and more. The fair allows dogs on leashes and will have several booths geared for pet owners. There will also be two interactive kid zones, one with various carnival rides and games and another with inflatable attractions, as well as two community stages with continuous live music and performances from locally featured bands and art schools from around the region.

Admission to the street fair is free. Beer festival tickets start at $15. Carnival ride costs vary per attraction. Parking will be available adjacent to the event in the Santee Trolley Square or the HD Supply parking lot.
