FBI ASKS PUBLIC HELP TO IDENTIFY LA MESA BANK ROBBER

July 11, 2017 (La Mesa) -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the San Diego Violent Crimes Task Force are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individual responsible for a bank robbery in La Mesa, California earlier today. 

The Cal Coast Credit Union, located at 8002 La Mesa Boulevard, La Mesa, California was robbed by a lone male.  The robber approached the teller and provided a handwritten note demanding money from the bank. The robber was provided a sum of cash and departed the bank on foot, according to FBI special agent Davene Butler.

The robber is described by witnesses as a black male, in his 30s, standing approximately 6'0" with a medium build. The robber wore a large straw hat and a chef’s apron over a dark colored t-shirt. No weapon was seen.
