November 3, 2010 (Sacramento) – After declining to concede last night despite multiple TV networks declaring Senator Barbara Boxer the winner, U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina called Boxer today to concede defeat and offer congratulations.

“It’s been a great ride,” Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlitt Packard, said of the campaign.  She also called for a bipartisan effort. "I hope all will come together," she urged, adding that members of Congress should "redouble their efforts" to make sure that all people have a chance to live the American Dream.

In an email to supporters, Boxer reaffirmed her commitment to continue standing up for the issues she believes are important to Californians. " Whether it's creating jobs, building a new clean energy economy, reducing the threat of climate change, protecting our coastline, defending a woman's right to choose, or ensuring equal rights for all, you know that I'm going to keep fighting.”
