October 13, 2019 (San Diego’s East County) – Elevated fire concerns continue this week due to low relative humidity and dry vegetation, with gusty winds starting Tuesday and increasing through Friday. Next weekend could see a return of dangerous Santa Ana conditions.

The National Weather Service predicts slightly warmer weather Tuesday with wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour in mountain passes and coastal slopes.

By Thursday and Friday, gusty west winds in the mountains and deserts could have peak gusts up to 40 miles an hour, with Santa Ana conditions possible next Sunday through Tuesday October 20-22, according to NWs meteorologist Samantha Connolly.
