September 29, 2018 (La Mesa) – Our East County Dining Club filled up Fourpenny House in La Mesa Wednesday night for a sold-out event.  Guests savored dishes ranging from Scottish mussels to Yorkshire wraps, also enjoying a demonstration of the Scottish pipes by proprietary Peter Soutowood.

Our guests came from as far away as Alpine. La Mesa Councilman Guy McWhirter stopped by, as did Grossmont Healthcare District CEO Barry Jantz and judicial candidate Matt Brower (photo, with ECM editor Miriam Raftery).  Many went home with prizes ranging from restaurant gift certificates to music CDs, books, jewelry and vouchers for local shops.

East County Dining hosts events each month at local restaurants or other venues to enable members and guests to savor foods from top regional chefs in a variety of unique settings.

If you would like to be added to the mailing list for notifications of East County Dining Clubs, contact editor@eastcountymagazine.org.

Everyone can attend dining club events. If you choose to join, it costs $10 and you will receive a free “Best of East County Cookbook” with recipes from top local chefs, two drawing tickets at our next event, and first invitation to future events so you can reserve space early, since several of our events during the first year have sold out.
