September 28, 2011 (La Mesa) -- The Grossmont College Theatre Arts Department will present “Dead Man’s Cell Phone,” a mystery and romantic comedy, at 7:30 p.m. on October 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15, and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 and 15, at the Stagehouse Theatre on campus, near Parking Lot #1 and the exterior Aztec wall mural.

“Dead Man’s Cell Phone” is the story that begins when a man dies at a café and his cell phone won’t stop ringing. A woman named Jean, sitting at a nearby table, decides to answer the phone and sets in motion a chain of events that is baffling, mysterious, comic and grim.

She becomes involved with the dead man’s wife, mother, mistress and brother, with whom she ends up falling in love. “Dead Man’s Cell Phone” is written by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Martin Katz.
