May 29, 2015 (Alpine) – Ground was broken this morning for a new turf field at Alpine Elementary School.  Funding was received from the County thanks to efforts by Supervisor Dianne Jacob, Colin Campbell, former president of the Alpine Education Association, told East County Magazine. “Finally, some positive news coming out of Alpine!”

The groundbreaking featured performances by students, music, dance, and refreshments.

Here are the real guests of honor: the AES student body attending in force; as the event took the form of a school spirit assembly.

There were about 100 adults attending, including from Viejas Tribal Council and the business community.
