April 5, 2014 (Alpine)--Grossmont Union High School District’s board meets on April 10 in the East County Regional Education Center, 924 East Main Street in EL Cajon.  Public session starts at 6 p.m. after a closed-door-session.

The hottest agenda item will be discussion and establishment of a board position for or against unification of Alpine Union School District. Alpine residents have obtained enough signatures for the County Board of Education to hold hearings on unification, which would make the AUSD a K-12 district and over the long term, enable that district to build the long-promised high school in Alpine that the GUHSD has repeatedly refused to build despite two bond measures passed to fund the high school.  A Grand Jury report excoriating the Grossmont Board for its failure to build the school or provide clarity to district residents for the future.

The Board will also hear reports including the latest Citizens Bond Oversight Committee and Superintendent reports, among other matters.   View full agenda:  http://grossmont.csbaagendaonline.net/cgi-bin/WebObjects/grossmont-eAgenda.woa/wa/showMeeting
