The staff member found the firearm while she was walking through the staff parking lot at 6:15 this morning.  She says she walked over to clean up some glass she had spotted, and that is when she found the gun, KUSI reports.

The Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into who owns the gun and why it was in the parking lot.  Law enforcement has not received any threats to the school.
