March 18, 2014 (Lemon Grove)—The upcoming "Day at the Historic 1892 Troxell Manor & Gardens" in the heart of Lemon Grove on Apr. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. promises to be a feast for both eyes and soul when guitarists Lorraine Castellanos and Jon Garner perform under the towering Moreton Bay Fig Trees, filling the air with the sounds of the great Latin American and European composers for classical guitar.

Castellanos, a native San Diegan with a busy career, performs solo, with ensembles, and with her trio Besos de Coco.  She is known for her perceptive phrasing and dynamic range, her delight in interpreting the expansive guitar literature and her work with her husband, renowned trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos.  She trained with guitar virtuoso Fred Benedetti and earned her Bachelor's in Music and Teaching Credential in Music, as well as her Master's in Classical Guitar, at SDSU.

Jon Garner brings the seasoned sound of a musician who moves easily from sound stage to theater stage, to studio to arena.  When you're not touring the Manor and gardens, you can sit and enjoy the Garner-Castellanos magic.

The Lemon Grove Historical Society reminds you to order your tickets before Apr. 12 and save $3 per ticket.  After the 12th and on the day of the tour, tickets will be $15.
