Okay, so we don't have beaches in East County. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a beach party. The public is invited to attend the second annual "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" Party on Friday, April 16 from 4:47 to 8:00 pm in downtown El Cajon. The ground floor of the empty commercial space at 237 East Main Street will be transformed into a tropical beach resort setting with tiki bars, food and drinks from local restaurants and pubs, dancing to live music by Private Domain, and prizes such as a Schwinn Beach Cruiser. The after-work gathering is open to everyone to celebrate and network with East County leaders, business professionals, community supporters, and neighbors.
The event is presented by Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians and El Cajon CDC, with support from Mainlanders / Tropical Tikis.com, and with participation from San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau and San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce.
Purchase tickets online or contact Kellye Buchanan, Resource Development Associate, at (619) 401-8858. Early bird ticket price is only $25 per person ($30 at the door) - Big Kahunas welcome! Admission price includes food and beverages, entertainment, and fun incentives to make additional contributions throughout the night. City Hall parking is encouraged, as entry to the event is limited to the front entrance on Main Street.
