January 14, 2012 (Julian)--Jeremy’s on the Hill Restaurant will host a fundraising dinner on Wednesday, January 25 from 4-8 p.m. for 3-year-old Brooklin Butts, who is currently at the Ronald McDonald House in Portland, Oregon undergoing treatment for cancer. She is the daughter of Rory and Meghan Butts and granddaugher of Debbie Butts, who works at the Julian Post Office.
“Rory is a very talented chef who used to work with us at Jeremy’s on the Hill and we will support his family any way we can,” said Chef Jeremy Manley. “Rory was a big influence on all of us at Jeremy’s and he brought many skills to the table that we still use.”
The menu prepared by Cordon Bleu-trained Chef Jeremy will include: Oven Roasted Chicken, Truffled Twice Baked Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. Cost is $16 for adults and $9 for children. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the restaurant for $15 and please make reservations by calling 760.765.1587.
“100% will be donated to the family,” said Teresa Manley, Chef Jeremy’s mother. “Our staff is amazing and they are donating their time, we will be donating the food costs and I know our wonderful community will come together and do everything they can to help our neighbors,” she continued.
“If the price is a little too much for you, come by anyway and we’ll drop the price to get you in and support the family,” said Chef Jeremy.
“Rory is like my brother and I’d do anything for him,” said Sous Chef Dax Christian. “We are a family and we stick together,” has been echoed from everyone on staff at Jeremy’s.
The staff at Jeremy’s on the Hill will also be gathering cards, gifts for the family and monetary donations to send to the family, which you may bring in to the restaurant.
“Please keep Brooklin and her family in prayer,” said Teresa Manley. If you are unable to attend, please send donations to the Brooklin Butts fund to Rabobank, PO Box 1897, Julian, CA 92036.
