JULIAN ANNOUNCES FULL MONTH OF "APPLE DAYS" EVENTS

September 27, 2012 (Julian)—Ah, autumn! Fall is in the air—and Julian celebrates the season with a full month of “Apple Days” activities ranging from apple picking to an old-fashioned melodrama (boo the villain and cheer the heroine) and yes, an Oktoberfest. 

Crowning the festivities, the Julian Apple Days Festival will take place October 6 and 7.  But there’s much more to savor in East County’s historic gold rush town, where apple pies and tourism are the new sources of riches.  Scroll down for details on October events in Julian.

Every Sunday (weather permitting): Julian Doves & Desperados  – historic comedy skits at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. & 3 p.m. – stage area between the Julian Fitness Center and the Julian Market & Deli. For information call Krisie at (760) 765-1857 more info...

October 6-7: Julian Merchants Association Julian Apple Days Festival – Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Menghini Winery – $5 Adults, Children 15 under free. Activities range from gold panning to a pie-eating contest.  www.julianappledays.com

October 5 through 27: "OLD TIME MELODRAMA" Every Friday: 7:15 p.m., Saturday: 1:15 p.m. & 7:15 p.m., and Sunday: 1:15 p.m. (Sunday matinees Oct 14 and 21 only.) Join us in celebrating Julian Apple Days with the 56th annual Old Time Melodrama. 90 minutes of family fun in the historical Julian Town Hall. Come cheer the hero and boo the villain.  All proceeds benefit community scholarships and youth programs. Adults $8 matinee, $10 evenings. Children 2-12, $2. October 6-7: Julian Open Studios Tour – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Meet Julian's local artists at work in their own home or studio. Maps $10 available at the Town Hall.

October 13-14: "OKTOBERFEST" by St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church  – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Rabobank Parking Lot  more info...

October 1-30:  Town Hall Crafters Fall Arts & Crafts Show – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Town Hall, downstairs.
