September 29, 2011 (La Mesa) -- La Mesa Historical Society opens its Centennial year activities with the release for sale of its special edition 2012 Centennial Calendar at Oktoberfest, which runs Sept. 30 through October 2.

Calendars feature historic photos plus fun Centennial facts.

The Centennial calendars will be available at the LMHS booth in the historic Heller Building at 8295 La Mesa Boulevard, on the southwest corner at Palm.

Graphic-artist and long-time Board Member Sharon Crockett designed the calendar featuring stylistically colorized historic photographs from the Society’s archives and centennial fun facts about La Mesa.

The calendars cost $10 and all funds will go to support the Society’s Centennial activities in 2012.

After Oktoberfest, the Calendars will be available from the Society directly. Visit the Society’s archives Saturdays from 1-4pm at 8369 University Ave, La Mesa or call 619-466-0197.
