November 1, 2011 (La Mesa)—Gerry Bullard, 22, and Keith Davis, 26 have been arrested on charges of car jacking and armed robbery, La Mesa Police report.  The men may be responsible for multiple robberies in La Mesa and elsewhere in the County, according to La Mesa Police.

Shortly after midnight early on Saturday, October 29, the La Mesa Police Department Special Enforcement Detail found a stolen Monte Carlo parked in the 7200 block of Pearson Ave., La Mesa. The Monte Carlo was a reported stolen vehicle that had been car jacked from a victim in San Diego and used in an armed robbery in Spring Valley earlier in the evening. The suspects in both cases were described as black males wearing hoodies.

Believing that the suspects had just recently parked the car and would likely attempt to rob a nearby business on Massachusetts Avenue the SED officer parked his undercover car in the lot of the Shell gas station in La Mesa. The officer saw the two suspects dressed in dark hoodies, approaching the Shell station and called for other LMPD officers assist.

La Mesa officers contacted the two suspects as they were about to enter the Shell lot and ordered them to the ground at gunpoint. The suspects refused to comply with the repeated orders and one suspect was tased. Both suspects were taken into custody. One of the suspects was carrying an air soft handgun. There were no injuries. San Diego PD and Sheriff Department detectives booked the suspects into jail for car jacking and robbery from their respective jurisdictions.

Further investigation by La Mesa detectives revealed that at least one of the suspects is believed to be responsible for a robbery that occurred at the 7-11 store at 4253 Palm Ave., La Mesa, on October, 19, 2011. La Mesa detectives plan to re-book the suspects on charges of robbery (La Mesa 7-11 robbery) and attempted robbery (La Mesa Shell station).

Detectives from several agencies are working together to determine if these suspects are responsible for other armed robberies throughout San Diego County.
